Глава МИД Румынии Емил Хурезяну: Пришло время подтвердить, что Молдова не одинока перед лицом вызовов

„Time is rime for me to say that Moldova is not alone in the face of the challenges. You have true friends in Romania and other partners which support the security and resilience in Moldova.’’  The Romanian diplomacy head, Emil Hurezeanu, has made the statement at a joint news conference with Foreign Affairs Minister Mihai Popsoi.

The Moldovan diplomacy head thanked Romania for the constant support provided both through energy infrastructure, transport projects, bridge across the Prut river and through projects meant for citizens.

„Romania has been and will be the most faithful friend, ally, brother, on which Moldovan can always rely. We are sure that Romania will always stand with us on our European integration way, as well as in the complicated process of consolidation of everything which means institutional resilience, either it is about the energy, economic sectors, or the security, defence and culture fields,’’ Popsoi noted.

He reiterated that the 2025 year had been declared the Year of Mihai Eminescu on both banks of Prut.

„This year, we mark the Year of Mihai Eminescu. We are grateful for the support provided by Romania to the libraries and cultural institutions. As only in this way, we can build the strategic relation and the rapprochement between the two banks of the Prut river. And we hope that we will be, along with Romania, in the great European family. We can be sure that Romania will be with us on all our way, either it is about the economic, security and defence sectors or the culture field, which is an integral part of everything which means modern, prosperous, European state,’’ Popsoi also said.

The Bucharest diplomacy head said that Romania supported Moldova in the face of the energy crisis and the hybrid attacks.

„We know that both the energy crisis and the influencing of the elections have a common denominator: we are exposed to hostile actions on behalf of Russia. If there was not the courage of this governance to consolidate the energy security, Russia would have probably maintained its capacity to leave the residents of Moldova in cold and darkness at any time. The way of energy independence is not easy. The hybrid attacks will continue; therefore, all actions of destabilization and the urgent needs led to the strengthening of the relations between us. Time is ripe for me to reaffirm the message that Moldova is not alone in the face of the challenges,’’ Hurezeanu said.

The Romanian foreign affairs minister said that he had scheduled meetings with President Maia Sandu and Prime Minister Dorin Recean, reiterating that Moldova enjoyed Romania’s support in the European integration process. He welcomed the 30-million-euros-worth assistance provided by EU for the energy crisis.
